Joyful Christmas.

Hi everyone, I'm extremely embarrassed to see how long it is since I've posted here!

I decided to use some of my new Christmas goodies. I have some lovely new stamps and I didn't know which to use first.

Here's what I made with the lovely Joyful Christmas stamp set.

I stamped the Poinsettia twice in Cherry Cobbler and coloured with Real Red and my blender pen. I popped the centre up on pads for some dimension. The sentiment is stamped in Old Olive and I added some Washi tape from the Season of Style set.

I need to scoot now but I hope it's not as long till I manage to post here again!

Thanks for looking and I'll catch up later.

Less is More Handmade Flower.

Hi everyone, hope you're all enjoying this amazing weather. I haven't seen much of it but it's nice to walk the dogs without wearing a big jacket!

When I saw the challenge at Less is More was handmade flowers I knew what I wanted to do straight away. Not like me, it usually takes me a while to decide what to do! This time it's only taken me a while to get round to actually making a card.

Products used all from Stampin' Up!
Flower :- Tissue paper and dies from the Secret Garden set.
Embossing Folder :- Adorning Accents.
Sentiment :- Curly Cute.
Button and cardstock in Pool Party.

I'd also like to enter this card at Totally Papercrafts :- Make your own flowers.

Have a lovely weekend.

Totally Gorjuss 192 - Sweet.

Hi everyone, just a quick post with my DT card for Totally Gorjuss. This week our theme is "sweet." You could use an image with cake or sweets or maybe a sweet little girl image. I'm sure you can find your own sweet interpretation.

So here's my quick and simple card.

I used :-
Image and sentiment :- Crazy for Cupcakes - an old set from Stampin' Up!
Colouring :- Stampin' Write markers.

I've got a crop at my local craft shop this afternoon so I'll be round to see what everyone's doing this evening.

Thanks for looking.

Less is More Shades of Grey!

What a useless blogger I am. It's been weeks since I've managed to post a card here! I have a few excuses though. I've been working full time for two weeks. During one of those weeks I also had my daughter's two Labradors as well as my own. To crown it all I've been doing a lot of crocheting as it's really portable and I can do it at work when it's quiet.

But this morning I suddenly had an idea for a card for this week's challenge at Less is More where they'd like to see at least two shades of grey.

Not sure if this works. What do you think?

I used :-
Image :- Love and Sympathy.
Sentiment :- Hopeful Thoughts.
Basic Grey card and Stampin' Write marker.
Paper-Piecing Essentials.
All from Stampin' Up!
Pearls from Hobby House.

Do you think it works? I'd love to hear what you think.

Thanks for looking.

Totally Gorjuss 186 - Anything Goes Plus Flowers.

Hi everyone as I'm sure you've noticed we're a day late with our challenge at Totally Gorjuss. Our leader Net has been spending long days looking for her beloved parrots. She even came home early from her holidays after the woman who was looking after them managed to lose them! Not surprisingly Net forgot to post last week's challenge and I wasn't sure whether she was going to post last week's or this week's. Does that make sense? Anyway it was decided to do this weeks as some of the DT schedule their posts.

So to cut a long story short this week we'd like to see some flowers on your card or project. So it's anything goes plus flowers.

Here's mine. I couldn't make up my mind what colour to make these fabulous Poppies. These ones are SU Midnight Muse and (I think) Gumball Green.

And these ones are Pool Party and Gumball Green.

The image  is Pleasant Poppies and the sentiments are from Teeny Tiny Sentiments. The sentiments are cut out with a punch as is the layer. All products from Stampin' Up!

Well since this is Sunday I have a few things to do just now so I'll catch up later.

Thanks for looking and if you have a minute to leave a comment I'd love to hear from you and visit you too. I've got a welcome day off tomorrow as it's a local holiday so I'm hoping to get some crafting done then.

Thank You.

Good morning everyone it seems as if I haven't posted for ages. Probably because it is ages. I keep hoping that I'm going to have more time to craft but every week something else happens to run away with my free time. But I've managed to make a quick card. It would have been quicker if I hadn't had to try out the image on a piece of scrap paper first and if I hadn't managed to make a black mark when I was stamping the sentiment!

So here it is. What do you think? Do you think this colour combo works? I was pleasantly surprised  by how much I like it!

Products used all from Stampin' Up!
Image and sentiment :- Just Believe.
Colouring :- Stampin' Write markers in Primrose Petals and Garden Green.
Ribbon :- Stitched satin in Primrose Petals.
Punches :- Word Window and Modern Label.
Adorning Accents edgelits.

I've used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches :-

Isn't that a great sketch? I love it.

Well unfortunately I have to work today :(  poor me. I think I have a Monday holiday in two weeks so I'll just have to look forward to that.

Thanks for looking and I hope you can find a minute to tell me what you think of my card.

Sweet Baby.

Well so much for my day off yesterday! I managed to spend a lot of my time baking for WRI teas for Wednesday. Today I finished by making fruit squares. We used to always call them flies' cemeteries. Sounds disgusting, I think it's because they're pastry top and bottom with a dried fruit filling. Quite yummy actually. I've never made them before so I hope they're ok. They're actually for the monthly competition but we'll have some for the teas too.

Does this make it clearer what a fruit square is?

Anyway enough waffle. I eventually managed to get time to make a card last night. I started to blog it but my internet connection was so bad that I couldn't upload my photo. So I gave up in disgust. Needless to say I had to do lots of housework this morning and then go to work. So here it is at last. Very simple but I quite like it.

Products used all Stampin' Up!
Image :-  Happy You - which is a Hostess set.
Colouring :- Stampin' Write markers. Pretty in Pink, Primrose Petals and Garden Green.
Ribbon :- Satin stitched ribbon in Primrose Petals.
Cardstock :- Whisper White and Pretty in Pink.
Embossing Folder :- Needlepoint Border.

Challenges :-
Retro Sketches

Papertake Weekly :- Anything Goes.
In the Pink :- Maybe Baby.

Ok that's me now. I'd best go and check up on my DT work and get organised for tomorrow.

Thanks for looking.

Butterfly Wishes.

Hello everyone, I hope you're all having a lovely Bank Holiday weekend. Today here in North East Aberdeenshire it has been a beautiful day and it's still sunny now. It has been very windy, good for the washing, but not nearly as cold as earlier in the week.

I thought I'd just pop in and show you a quick card I've just made before I do my ironing!

Do you ever decide to follow a particular challenge and then discover that one element is missing and you need to improvise? I discovered that I didn't have a particular colour of card! But I do have a complete set of Stampin' Write markers.....problem solved!

This is what I made......

CAS(e)this Sketch

Don't be shy now, please tell me  what you think. I like to hear what other people think and I like to be able to visit you too. So don't be shy leave me a wee comment so I know who's visited.

Just for You.

Hi everyone, I'm a bit late today but I couldn't decide on a colour combo for the Less is More. Eventually I chose yellow-green and violet-red as these colours seemed to suit the stamps I wanted to use.

I stamped the flower directly onto the card. Then I masked it and stamped the trellis. Lastly I stamped the flower again, cut it out and popped it up on sticky pads. I stamped a "just for you" sentiment at the bottom corner and that's it - card made.

What do you think? Do you like the colour combo? I think it works quite well.

Products used all from Stampin' Up!
Images :- Summer Silhouettes and Summer Solstice.
Sentiment :- Just Believe.
Inks :- Rich Razzleberry and Lucky Limeade.

Challenges :-

Less is More.

Colour Challenge
This month we would like you to choose TWO opposite colours from this Colour Wheel

Seize the Birthday :- Sketch.

Great sketch, I think this one could be useful for lots of occasions.

Not like me to be posting twice in one day. Please scroll down to see my previous post if you've missed it. I know I'm only posting simple cards but sometimes you need to do a bit of thinking about even a simple card. Well I do anyway! Maybe I'm just slow lol!

Anyway here's my card, quite simple but I like it.

Products used all from Stampin' Up!
Image :- Secret Garden, bottom layer cut with maching die and next two layers cut with scissors and popped up on sticky pads.

A Simple Thank You.

I'm ashamed to show you my card as it's so simple. I loved the colour combo at Colour Q. Isn't it pretty.

And here's what I came up with. As you can see it's even simpler than simple!

I used Jen's lovely sketch at Less is More.

I used :- All from Stampin' Up!
Cardstock :- Whisper White.
Image and sentiment :- Easy Events.
Stampin' Write markers in Midnight Muse, Marina Mist, Pretty in Pink and Wisteria Wonder.

That's it then, I think it took longer to write about it than it took to make it!

Thanks for looking. It's my day off today and funnily enough after a bright enough start it's now turned dull and rainy. Still all I want to do is stay in and craft. I might just go off now and organise our tea. We usually have home made curry on a Thursday. Catch you later.

Do You Like Candy?

This is a sticky so please scroll down for more posts.

Silly question! Who doesn't like candy, especially when it's sugar free!

Edited to add - I've decided to extend the candy till the 30th of April as I'm going to be busy this week. I hope this means more of you will enter. Please!

This new blog is all about Stampin' Up! products so I thought to start it off I would offer some lovely Stampin' Up! candy.

Isn't it lovely. It includes the Sycamore Street Designer papers plus ribbons and buttons. They're really nice zingy colours and of course everything co-ordinates beautifully. All this for one of my lovely followers.

Blog candy rules :-

1.  Become a follower - and please stay otherwise I'll think I've done something to offend you!
2. Leave me a comment.
3.  Mention my blog candy on your own blog - pic in sidebar is fine.
4.  Come back on 30th April to see if you've won.
5.  Email me within seven days to claim your prize.

That's all you need to do. Simple! I'm looking forward to hearing from you already.

By the way some of you might have seen my original blog Lilackat, if you pop over there you might find some candy there too.

My Favourite Flowers.

Do you have a favourite flower? My favourite flowers are Poppies, Pansies and Carnations. Especially Poppies, all colours not just red ones.

I've been dying to use the gorgeous Pleasant Poppies stamp but it's quite big so I didn't know when I would use it. After a careful look at it I thought maybe I could use part of it if I just inked some of it with my markers. I liked the look of Jen's lovely sketch at Less is More so this is what I've made.

Products used all from Stampin' Up!
Image :- Pleasant Poppies.
Cardstock :- Marina Mist.
Colouring :- Marina Mist, Wild Wasabi and Basic Black.
Sentiment :- Teeny Tiny Sentiments.

Isn't that a lovely image. I really like it in blue. I think I'll use this image a lot!

Thank You for Less is More.

Not sure if there's anyone out there or if I'm talking to myself but I'm hoping someone will see this!

When I looked at the challenge at Less is More this week I thought I might be able to CASE Jen's lovely card. Not sure if I could successfully CASE Chrissie's card but I think I might give it a go soon.

I hope I've made mine different enough from Jen's not to be a complete copy!

Products used all from Stampin' Up!
Cardstock :- Crumb Cake and Pool Party.
Ink :- Pool Party.
Sentiment :- Just Believe.
Dotty Background :- Itty Bitty Backgrounds. (a very old set.)

Lovely Flowers from a Secret Garden.

Hi everyone I really must apologise for being such a bad blogger recently. I'm hoping this week will be better. But on the other hand I'm going to be out 2 nights! So no promises but I will try harder!

I've been dying to get my hands on this stamp set for ages and it arrived on Thursday. Unfortunately I was too busy to use it on Thursday. Typical! But I knew I had to use it straight away. So I made a card for my colleague who will be 50 on Tuesday. Being a kind person I didn't add any numbers. I usually keep a selection of cards at work and we all sign one when it's someone's birthday. Naturally I don't get a nice handmade card, I get a shop one! I'm not sure if everyone wants to sign a card as usual or give individual ones. If not I'll just use it myself.

The products I used are all from Stampin' Up!
Image :- Secret Garden plus matching dies.
Sentiment :- Wacky Wishes.
Inks :- Stampin' Write markers in regal rose, pretty in pink, wild wasabi and lucky limeade.
Embossing folder :- Fancy Fan.

Challenges for this card :-
Addicted to CAS :- Flower.
Allsorts :- A Passion for Flowers.

I bought the Secret Garden bundle which is the stamps plus matching dies. A real bargain bought this way rather than seperately as you save £6. I like a bargain.

And talking of bargains have you seen this amazing offer from Stampin' Up!?

• Get more for your money - place an order for £250 and choose £65 worth of products free! Or join SU and get £155 worth of products for just £99! Offers end 30th May 2013

I wouldn't mind that first offer for myself! If you fancy placing an order please get in touch and I'd be glad to help.

I found a lovely sketch at Freshly Made Sketches and I couldn't resist making a card. I love this sketch, it's definitely one to keep.

And here's what I made.

I used :-
Card stock and ink :- Raspberry Ripple.
Butterflies :- Papillon Potpourri.
Sentiment :- Teeny Tiny Sentiments.
Textured Impressions :- Designer Frames.
Bitty Butterfly Punch.
All from Stampin' Up!

Lime and Black for Less is More.

Hi everyone, I'm a bit late with this but that's because I've been messing around trying to put down what was in my head. I ended up doing something else first......I'm posting it on my original blog - Lilackat.

Needless to say this is not what I had in my head at all. I tried out a few ideas on some scrap paper but nothing was working so I just made a very quick card and went back to this one. And this is what happened. I'd like to enter this card at Less is More for their Lime and Black challenge and at CAS on Sunday where the challenge is "Thank You." And it fits the challenge at Addicted to Stamps & More which is "Addicted to CAS."

Stampin' Up! products - image from the Hopeful Thoughts set, stamped in Lucky Limeade and sentiment from the Wacky Wishes set.
I had a small problem with the flowers. They're very small and I couldn't find anything small enough. Eventually I found some sequins and added some black rhinestones. Now I think that was a mistake because they look like googly eyes to me. Oh dear!!!

If you fancy having any of these lovely stamps just drop me an email.

I'll be back tomorrow to let you know about the colour changes that are happening soon. some colours are being discontinued and some of the older ones are being brought back. There's still plenty of time to order if you find that one of your favourite colours is being discontinued so don't panic!

I'll also be back tomorrow with some candy to celebrate my new blog and being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator.

Thanks for looking and I'm looking forward to hearing what you think of my card.

Hi everyone, I'm excited to be writing my first post as an independent Stampin' Up! demonstrator. I've been crafting for a few years now and I've had my blog at Lilackat for about three and a half years now. I recently  bought a lot of Stampin' Up! goodies and suddenly I'm a demonstrator! My style has become more CAS recently and I find Stampin' Up! products ideal for this.

So here's my first card on this blog. It's very simple and the products are all from Stampin' Up!

I used :-
Cardstock in Primrose Petals
Stitched Satin ribbon in Primrose Petals.
Butterfly from Papillon Potpourri cut out with Elegant Butterfly punch.
Honeycomb embossing folder.

I'm entering the following challenges :-
Freshly Made Sketches :- Sketch.
In the Pink :- Let's Fly Away.

Hope you likey.

So if anyone wants to buy any of these gorgeous products please get in touch at katanderson.13@gmail.com

I'm also thinking of starting a Stampers 6 club. All you need to do is spend £25 a month and one month you are guaranteed to get at least £25 of hostess credit when it's your month to be hostess. Just email me if you want to find out more. As part of the deal you get free copies of the current catalogues not to mention lots of lovely new goodies.

Thanks for looking and I'd love it if you decided to follow me.
